Sergey BUBKA about IAAF World Championships in London

About Usain Bolt

Usain is an outstanding athlete. I’m very grateful to him for all he has done for sports, athletics and Olympic movement. Bolt is a bright person who made a lot for further development and to leave a trace in history.

About pole vaulting

The competitions were really interesting and spectacular. I expected Sam Kendrics (USA), Piotr Lisek (Poland) and Reno Lavillenie (France) will compete for medals.  They’ve done good job. Also I would say some good words about young Armand Duplantis. Swedish guy made good result in qualification following his father’s achievements.

The win Katerina Stefanidi (Greece) in women’s pole vault and her personal best 4.91 is good result and one  more proof of her stability.

About Yuliya Levchenko

19 years old Ukrainian won silver medal in high jumping with personal best 2.01 that is U20 World record – that is really great. A bit earlier Yulia won European title U23 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. I’m happy to see such talented athlete and very nice person.

About IAAF World Coaches Conference

It’s very important event to be held during World Championships. To get new knowledge, to change experience – great opportunity to be involved during 3 days sharing thought with 150-190 participants. I was glad to moderate with  Katerina Stefanidi “Mental preparation” Session with lots of practical issues that we face almost each day of trainings and especially competitions.
