KOREA WILL BE AT CENTERSTAGE OF GLOBAL OLYMPIC SPORT IN FEBRUARY 2018

Sergey Bubka, Ukraine’s NOC President, met Mr Lee Yang-goo, South Korea Ambassador in Ukraine, at ‘Olympic House’ in Kyiv.

Bubka, who is also IOC Executive Board member and IAAF Senior Vice President, and ambassador Lee Yang-goo discussed preparation to XXIII Winter Olympics to be held in PyeongChang, South Korea, in February 2018.

The possibility of making joint projects to promote 2018 Winter Games, Ukraine’s Olympic team, as well as culture and history of Korea was in the limelight at the meeting. Mr Ambassador was informed about the plans of Ukraine’s NOC to celebrate the Olympic day and 100 days to go to the Games’ opening, considering his participations in the events.

Sergey Bubka praised South Korean giant Samsung for his long-time partnership with Ukraine NOC and global Olympic movement. He also proposed to involve other Korean companies in Ukraine into cooperation with local Olympic athletes.

Mr Bubka and ambassador Lee Yang-goo also talked about bike parade planned to take place in Kyiv in July 2017 in commemoration of 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Korea.
