BUBKA ‘THE EOCS HAVE HUGE POTENTIAL TO HELP IMPROVE COOPERATION BETWEEN NOCS’

The European Olympic Committees acting President Janez Kocijancic visited Kyiv to meet Ukraine’s NOC President Sergey Bubka.

Mr Kocijancic paid a visit to National Olympic Committee headquarters where he discussed the issues of cooperation between the EOCs and NOCs with Bubka.

Sergey Bubka who also IOC Executive Board, said, ‘The European Olympic Committees play more and more noticeable role for the Olympic movement which is certainly good for cooperation between NOCs in Europe.  We must continue to strengthen the opportunities for National Olympic Committees and National sport Federations, core organizations for our movement, and the EOCs are instrumental for these’.

EOCs’ President also met stuff from different Committee’s departments, including famous Ukrainian athletes who work there. He got closely informed about NOC's plans and projects that are being promoted in the country and praised the high level of their organization.

 Mr Kocijancic will attend the "Heroes of the Sports Year-2016" Ceremony on Friday, March 31st, at NSC "Olimpiysky" in Kyiv where country’s best Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic athletes and coaches will receive their awards. He is also planning to meet the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ihor Zhdanov and visit Olympic Studies’ Center where Ukraine’s Olympic Academy headed by Maria Bulatova works.
